CHAPTER I - Prologue

  

Pretrial Hearing, Courtroom Situation 

"I DIDN'T KILL HER!!" Julian screamed loudly as some officers began 

handcuffing him and taking him away from the courtroom. 

Vanessa smiled faintly, her eyes following the athletic tall body of the man 

who was taken away to the prisoner's car. Vanessa breathed a sigh of relief. 

One task is done. However, this case cannot be taken lightly. She has 

sacrificed most of her time as an investigator in the police departement, just 

for the sake of the revelation of this murder case.  

"Congratulations, Miss", his colleague, Akbar, approached her and gave her 

a firm handshake and a big smile, "WE MADE IT!!", Akbar shouted loudly 

as he pulled Vanessa to give her a hug, his voice echoed throughout the 

courtroom. 

"Thank you", Vanessa replied quickly with a sweet smile to Akbar, "it's all 

thanks to teamwork" 

"Yes, of course. We had been waited by our team for a celebration at the 

Nyiur Rasa restaurant", Akbar held her hand, heading her to the parking lot, 

"I am hungry too, this is the right time for lunch", Akbar smiled in his thick  

North Sumatra accent. 

Vanessa just smiled and followed Akbar's steps to the car. This lunch 

invitation with her work team, of course, should not be refused. She was 

hungry. However, Vanessa's mind is still floating on the case.

Julian Parker Martosusanto is a man with an attractive, intelligent and 

passionate appearance. At the age of 33, he has already had an advertising 

company that he started himself, after previously he had also founded a 

company in the same field, with his three colleagues. Rudi who is his 

campuss friend in the advertising department, Sardi who has been a 

comrade since Julian first job in his career in advertising, and Jennifer,  his 

ex-girlfriend when he was in a college, which they later broke up, but, unlike 

another lovers who harbor grudges and hurt, Julian and Jennifer became a 

bestfriend with the similar vision of building the company. 

Julian separated from his colleagues three years ago. Although his own 

company is not as big as the company he pioneered with his three 

colleagues  before, but his own company has grown progressing rapidly 

with annual revenue that continues to skyrocket. With his expertise and his 

well known name since he had founded the previous company with his 

colleagues, it is not difficult for Julian to get customers for his own company. 

Julian should have got a shares of every dividend from the old company 

which he founded with his three colleagues, because he is also one of the 

founders, the owner of the capital and the one who formulated the 

company's articles of association and bylaws. However, no talks about it 

from his collagues, it had always met a stalemate. 

His three collagues always avoided Julian everytime Julian asked about the 

meeting schedule to discuss the share of their company dividends. 

Afterwards,their friendship began to crack. Only Jennifer, his best friend and 

also his ex-lover, the one who still likes to invite him sometimes, once or 

twice to meet and talk about it.
