A month has passed since the barbeque party at Julian's house. Julian had not believed in Jennifer anymore. He also forgot the possibility of a meeting that he had planned with his three old colleagues; Jennifer, Sardi and Rudi, to talk about palm oil jobs in Sulawesi and why they didn't ask Julian to involve. Julian has also never told Jennifer, that he already knew the rottenness of his three colleagues through Sardi's text message on Jennifer's cell phone during a barbeque party.
The day when he red
Sardi's message on Jennifer's phone, he strightly went to his office and
arranged all the most important and confidential documents of his company,
especially his cooperation with start-up
companies that were still running. He asked Deddy to handle all the company's confidential
documents himself, and not delegate or share the documents with other
employees. So all the most important company documents, especially the start-up's
company documents, are held directly by Julian and Deddy, none other than the
two of them.
Julian also instructed
Deddy to handle documents
related to the company's cash flow from the Finance Division
Manager and also all documents related to the company's intellectual property
rights, related to the company's creative ideas for advertising and all other
forms of advertising products. Creative and unique ideas, which make Julian's
company products different and have their own characteristics and price
segments. That’s the thing that his three former colleagues were pursuing
Julian for!
And off course, Julian
blocked Jennifer's number on his phone and redirected Jennifer's phone call to
the office number which held by Deddy. It’s because Julian wants to see
Jennifer's earnestness, fulfill the promise for
the transfer of dividends
that she said at the barbeque party. Julian wanted to know whether Jennifer
is still trustworthy and likes to fulfill her promises, like she used to be, or
not anymore. Julian has instructed Deddy to not to respond to any invitation
from Jennifer, and he also told Deddy that if there is a message or phone call
regarding the distribution of dividends,
just say thank you if it has been transferred, but if it is not- suppose
Jennifer to making excuses again, do not respond.
Certainly, Jennifer called
to confirm that Julian's dividend in his company with Jennifer before, had been
transferred. Jennifer also asked for an appointment for the signing for a
letter which is a proof of a transfer receipt. But Julian has entrusted Deddy
to refuse all appointment request from Jennifer. So Deddy then took the
initiative to ask Jennifer to send a Corporate Secretary or Financial Manager
from Jennifer's office to come to Julian's office, and Deddy would receive the
receipt document to be given to Julian.
Jennifer's indeed sent her
employee to come to Julian’s office, but he couldn’t meet Julian and had only
been asked to wait in the lobby with
security , while Deddy had delivered
the document to be signed by Julian. And the envoy was immediately had been asked
to go home, after the copy of signed document is given to him, without being
invited to meet with Julian . Jennifer called, when the envoy of her office arrived
back to office, Jennifer intended to thank Julian for his cooperation so far,
but she couldn’t talk to Julian, only could talk to Deddy, and he only said
thank you again and he also said that a
copy of the transfer receipt proof letter had been
properly stored by Julian's office.
Click. Deddy blocked
Jennifer's number, according to Julian's instructions. It's done. There was no
need to have affairs with Jennifer anymore or anything from her office.

Julian was completely
relieved. Three months after the arrival of Jennifer office’s envoy and the
signing of the transfer dividend receipt, there was no news from Jennifer and his two other associates or
any news from his old company. Indeed, that's the thing that he trully expects.
He has genuinely determined to forget his past with his company before and make
it as a valuable lesson, especially for his performance and the continuity of
his own company.
His attitude became more
positive and his enthusiasm increased. It proved in his productivity in the
office, he made some new changes and breakthroughs. With a new funds which was from
the dividends he had received
from Jennifer, Julian opened up promotions to other regions by making several
events and business agreements, even with some smalls and new companies. Julian
established partnerships with these regional companies, opening subsidiaries
that were joint ventures with
several companies in the new areas. He even added creative ideas and recruited
creative teams for his company's products in the region.
He had forgotten about the
bad experience of the palm oil company in Sulawesi in the past, after all, now his company has more
progress and more revenue than when he joined his three colleagues. This makes
him always optimistic about his work and business.
Until someday at the afternoon,
Deddy asked for permission to enter Julian's room with two files of Notary letters.
Deddy said that this letters was delivered by Sardi and Rudi, Julian's former
colleagues. With the closeness of Deddy and Julian, Deddy knows very well who
the two men are. So Deddy forbade the
security or the front office to receive that two men, and asked security
to tell them to not to wait in Julian’s office. Deddy asked them to go out and back
to their own office after Deddy received the letters. Those notary letters, they said, were copies of the letters that
Julian need to read correctly. They also left a note, because they had been
forbidden to meet Julian.
Julian immediately took
the documents and notes, because he also saw the arrival of his two former
colleagues directly from the CCTV in his room. Actually, he was shock and
annoyed by their arrival, but he knew that Deddy, his loyal assistant, could
handle the situation.
The first letter was a “"Letter
of Establishment of the Company” that he remembered, the four of them had signed
together in front of a Notary. Seven years ago, Julian, Jennifer, Sardi and
Rudi, with reckless capital, their youth motivation, and enough joint venture
funds to start a company, they went to the Notary to made that letter of
establishment as their seriousness will of making a bussiness together. He saw
that the letter was still the same as he had seen before when he was still working with his three
colleagues. In researching of the date, place, day, and even the points of
agreement, everything is still the same as seven years ago.
'So what?!', Julian thought, after all, he had
received his last dividend and has already closed all the problems with his old
company and colleagues,
Curious, he opens of the
second letter, which is completely different. The shareholders and owners of
the company are only Jennifer, while Sardi and also Jennifer are Commissioner,
and Rudi only as a Chairman of the Board of Directors. His name does not exist,
of course. He is not in that company, not work with them anymore, recently, he
understand.
'So what!! I'm not with them anymore', Julian thought, he wondering, what
the hell is this.. Are that three ex-collagues want to get into trouble with
him, show off or...
but, wait!
THE DATE!!
Julian gasped. The date of
this second document was made 4 years ago, when he was still working together
with them!!! When he was busy working on the palm oil company's project with
them, his three collagues! And at that time, he never felt invited to the
Notary, and he never knew that his three colleagues went to the Notary, for a
change of the company structure and ownership!!
So, all of this problem
with his three collagues and his old company is not because that his
performance was not good, so then his three colleagues worked without him for
the palm oil project.., and... set up a branch office in Bandung!! THIS HAS
INDEED BEEN PLANNED!! THEY PLANNED TO KICKED OUT JULIAN!!
And they had never told to
Julian about it.
Extraordinary!!! REALLY AMAZING..!!!
Julian was stunned. He was
amazed.
Stupid.
Are his three colleagues
as treacherous? Unbelievable!!
And Jennifer?? His ex-
girlfriend and bestfriend???
It was hard to believe,
after all these years, he thought, he knew Jennifer's character very well. It’s
hard to believe, Jennifer betrayed himself.. him.
After all they had been
through together.
Is that the human heart?? Could it be a betrayal, a human
heart??
It’s not about whether he knows
or never knows about women heart. But Jennifer is his bestfriend, he's just feel like she’s his own family, and he feels like he had already known her very well.
Suddenly Julian felt like
he is stupid.
Too naïve and stupid.
Quickly, he opens a notes
from Sardi and Rudi:
Julian, that are just 2 proofs of Jennifer betraying us. We
found that new Letter of Establishment today. She hasn't been seen in the
office for 3 days, she said she was sick, but when we visited her house, we
couldn't even find her. Julian, we're all in the similar situation, we all were
betrayed by that fucking bullshit girl. If you have time, let’s have a coffee
together at 7 p.m., meet us at the café where we used to go at the past. We
need you, bro, it seems like the same thing at the past time, seems she can
only trust you, not us. Probably, its you who can meet her in her house.
Please, bro, help us! In fact, it was proved that you also had been betrayed by
her. So, please meet us in Coffee Cafe Haneut at 7 o'clock. Awaited.
‘What game is this?'
Julian smiled broadly, 'Wow.. gosh.. apparently there's a Korean drama in the

The Letter of the

their story with Jennifer betrayal..'. He called Deddy to keep the documents of
those Letter of Establishment from his two old collagues. He also asked Deddy
to accompany him for coffee with his two colleagues in Café Haneut at 7 PM
tonight.
"You can invite your
friend too, or please ask one of our mate from The Creative Teamwork
Departement, it’s not officially, only relax and hangout coffe time, Deddy",
said Julian to his assistant
Deddy smiled happily with his leisurely overtime, he immediately went
out and invited one of his friends from the creative team.

The atmosphere at Café
Kopi Haneut is quite crowded, but still as cozy as it used to be when Julian often hung out at this café
with Jennifer, Sardi and Rudi at the past times.
The smell of coffee that
enveloped the café,
Hmmmmm....
The pleasant aroma of
coffee, almost made him de javu with
his early struggles in the advertising business with his three old colleagues.
He saw Sardi and Rudi from
afar, sitting in one corner of the café with coffee and snacks. Apparently they
also saw Julian, it seemed that Sardi immediately smiled widely, "Heyyy...
how are you, bro...", his smile grew wider as he grabbed Julian and pulled
him into a big hug
"Good..", Julian replied,
immediately reject the hug, and just shook Sardi's hand with flimsy smile.
Rudi was no less excited, " You looked
more dashing, Boss", he smiled as wide as Sardi smile’s to Julian
While Julian turned his attention
to Deddy and Arman, the Creative Teamwork, his two employees who came together with
him,
"Please, I want to introduce
two amazing men, Deddy and Arman, the mainstay of the office, the hero, the
backbone and the determinant of the success of the project", Julian smiled
to Deddy and Arman who looked shy with the compliment,
“It’s because you lead us!",
Deddy replied, which Julian immediately continued,
"Everyone in the office is the
backbone and determinant for the success of the project. Everyone in the office
is important. Nothing is unimportant", Julian’s big smile was reserved for
his two employees, while he meant it sarcastically to Rudi and Sardi who had
kicked him out from the old company with them before.
"Well, I’ll order a coffee and
have a sit in the bar with Arman, Bang", said Deddy, he knew his boss agenda in this meeting with the
two old collagues, he smiled and ready to pull out to the bar with Arman
"Okay, just relax, Ded",
Julian let his two employees go and hang out at the bar across his seat in the
room, then he immediately turned his gaze towards his two old colleagues,
"So, four years ago, kicked me out without confirmation, let me out
and never wanted to see me or even asked me about why I quit from the company...,
after all of those, now…..we can still work together, huh...???", Julian
chuckled sarcastically, "How was the palm oil company 4 years ago? It's
been a long time since we've met, huh..", he laughed even louder while
staring at his two colleagues sharply
Sardi began to speak up,
"Bro, if only we knew, it' was
because you were neglected in the palm oil project and the opening of a branch
office in Bandung, we won't let you leave."
"Yes, bro", Rudi
quickly chimed in, "In fact, we thought, you left because of your own
initiative. Moreover, it won't take long for you to create your own
company."
"Very
arrogant..", Sardi immediately snatched Rudi's words, "that was what
we’ve been thought at that time, therefore I was lazy to meet you, bro"
"I thought, everytime
you asked us to meet along all these 4 years, because you only want to boast of
yourself...", Rudi glanced at Sardi then looked at Julian seriously,
"we both know very well, you are the best among the three of us"
"Bullshit!", Julian was really annoyed with his
two colleagues
"Listen, bro. This is
not like what you think," continued Rudi, "when the palm oil project
was ongoing, Jennifer said, actually you want to control the company by
yourself alone. Therefore at the beginning of the palm oil project, you made it
all by youself alone, Jennifer said that you started to be selfish and wanted
to control your own projects and companies."
"Jennifer was close
to you, bro, she's your ex, so I thought, she knew your character very well. She
said, the three of us should take over all that Palm Oil Sulawesi projects, and
never let you to get involved, don’t ever let you control the projects and
companies. So..yeahh.. then…we’ve
already known the remain story!"
"Therefore Jennifer
let you worked on small projects intead of the Palm Oil project, so then you
would realized that you were got dumped out by her and would leave the company",
Rudi still continued his story, "and if you didn't leave the company, she
said, after the opening of the branch office in Bandung, Jennifer herself would
make you out of the
company," Rudi seriously told Julian about situation four years ago which Julian
wanted to know
'Bullshit!!' , Julian raged in his heart. He knows very well who
Jennifer is, since in the college times and when they were dating, after they
broke up, Jennifer is even still close to Julian's family. Even after they broke up!!! They even became a bestfriends and
business partners. There was no way Jennifer could do that evil things!!! But,
the other side of his heart began to doubt her and believe in Sardi and Rudi's
story
"It was our fault,
bro, we’ve believed in Jennifer's incitement. So, we let you got out of the
company, let you be alone without us. And when you built your own company then
slowly your company has grown up and become our rival, we were also much more
sure in Jennifer's incitement!"
Julian tried to calm
himself down, breathing slowly and patiently as his ears turned into red,
hearing that two colleagues vilifying Jennifer. This made him even more
skeptical of Jennifer.
"We believe in
Jennifer's incitement, bro. The second
Letter of Establishment that you saw yesterday, we just found it 3 days ago, when
Jennifer didn't attend to office, we
found it in her work drawer", Sardi still kept talking
"We were known by
that second Letter of Establisment that it
wasn’t you, but her, who wanted
to control the company herself!!!"
"Well, but since the
beginning of the company's establishment, she had always been the largest
shareholder and gave the biggest amount of capital than all of us", Julian
interrupted
"You know, that's the
problem”, Rudi quickly cut Julian’s words, “ You saw it clearly, didn’t you,
bro? You saw in the second Letter of Establishment, me and Sardi, both of us
are only become a Commissioners and Board of Directors", Rudi conviced Julian, "We are not the Owner of company
capital, Founder and Shareholder anymore!"
Sardi immediately chimed in, "Therefore, we visited her and wanted
to ask her. But it was difficult to meet her”, Sardi sigh, “ The person at her home
said, that she was sick, she couldn't meet anyone."
Sardi continued his
peeved, "She even gave you dividend share without telling us! She never confirmed
us about that dividend shared to you. That’s what she is!!! She always do
everything she likes by herself, never telling us! And all these 3 days is a proof, she said
that she got sick, but in fact she hasn’t attended to office three days, she
did it without permission or any clear confirmation," Sardi ended hiw word
with peeved expression
Julian smiled
sarcastically and looked at his two colleagues in exasperation, "Yes,
that’s right. But the dividend, it was really my right which hadn’t been shared
when I was with you all before”, he raised his eyebrows a second, “You knew,
since four years ago, I’ve never been part of you two and Jennifer as well. All
of you kicked me out, remember??”, he smiled wide even more sarcastically, “In
my opinion, you two, should be grateful to have a colleague like Jennifer who
is responsible, even for person who were no longer in the company", Julian
replied quickly, "and about the change company owner and shareholder by the
second Letter of Establishment,nor about Jennifer..whether she was sick or not,
nor two of you couldn’t meet her, nor she always do only as she likes in the
office, All of those are none of my business", he smiled widely with
satisfaction
"I think we got karma
because of you, bro..”, Rudi saw Julian with a pleading expression, “We want
fairness of dividend shared confirmation, about the company, but to meet her..
it's really hard", Rudi continued with his pleading face, "please
bro, help us. Help us, so we can meet her. If you were with us, we’re sure, she
would open the door"
Julian immediately turned
his gaze to Deddy and Arman at the bar across the café, he saw his two
employees having coffee and chatting with
the female waitress, he called
Deddy, "Ded, come here!”, Julian gave a sign with his hands to Deddy, and
when Deddy saw and hurriedly come to him, he asked Deddy, “You’ve still kept
Jennifer's number, right?"
Deddy replied his boss,
"No,Bang , I don’t have it"
Julian then looked at his
two old colleagues, "Give me her number, here, let me call”
When Rudi quickly gave him
Jennifer’s phone number, Julian quickly contacted Jennifer.
When calling, at first,
Julian asked about Jennifer's illness. Julian and Jennifer talked a minute
about Jennifer illness, then Julian asked to visit her but accompanied by Sardi
and Rudi.
With his charming
character, it wasn’t difficult for Julian to persuade Jennifer. Jennifer was
willing to accept the three of them, even with coffee break and lunch together,
just as in the past times, when the four of them were still together in the
company. Jennifer reminded Julian how they often hung out at the house of one
of them, just hanging out, chatting, went
to coffee shop, even watching movies together. Jennifer said, she would welcome
three of them in her house, as she missed Julian to be among Jennifer, Sardi
and Rudi. Julian smiled flimsy, although he has forgotten all those days
because of his broken heart of how his three colleagues kicked him, but he
still could talk sweet to Jennifer to take a rest and they would come to visit
her tomorrow.
And when he ended up his call to
Jennifer, he saw his two colleagues sharply, "Enough?!!" asked Julian
flatly and sharply to his two colleagues. Deddy had rejoined Arman since Julian
started calling Jennifer, so he didn’t know anything about Julian conversation
with his two old colleagues nor with Jennifer.
Julian looked at Sardi
more sharply, "Okay, I'm back now,", he finished drink his black coffee, he gave sign with his
hands to call Deddy and Arman to join him, which Deddy and Arman immediately
responded from across the café bar, they immediately joining Julian and his
colleagues.
Immediately Julian paid the bill for himself and his two
employees, Deddy and Arman. He looked at Rudi and Sardi once again, "So, I
wanna know now, do you want to explain, I mean, especially you, Sardi, what is
your purpose, you searched information of my company's affairs with my client from start-up company", his face
hardened, "You bastards!"
"What are you talking
about?!!! Who said that?!!!!", Sardi dodged
"Fuck, I SAW IT
MYSELF ON JENNIFER'S PHONE!!" Julian was really impatient to find out the
truth he saw on Jennifer's phone, he was really angry with his two colleagues,
all the disappointment feeling since four years ago, just came out into his
angry expression, without he realized it.
"Oooh, yes. I know
exactly now! You met Jennifer before! I heard the gossip about the barbeque party, without you and
Jennifer invite me and Rudi", Sardi began force back, his face was mocked, "I’m curious, seems it all of your intrigues. You, with your
own company, and you provoked and helped Jennifer to control our company, then
Jennifer will do a requisition. So each of you are the owner of the
company", Sardi's face flushed with emotion, "AND YOU WANT ME AND
RUDI BEING KICKED OUT, OR WORK ONLY AS YOUR SERVANT DOGS!!!!"
BUKKK!! ,
One hard bump punch landed
right on Sardi's cheek.
Julian looked at him angrily, "In
the past, three of you all kicked me out of the company, avoided me and let me
alone with all my confuse and dissapointment...”, his handsome shinning face
become red because of anger, “And now.., after I succeeded..., you want to take
over my client and accused me back???!!!", Julian really couldn't handle
his emotions anymore
Meanwhile, Sardi was no
less emotional, "It's useless for you to hide your plans with Jennifer”,
Sardi smiled mockingly, “HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU WANT TO TAKE TOGETHER FOR YOU
BOTH??!”, he rubbed his cheek which was punced by Julian, “You're so stupid,
Julian.., You know Jennifer has already had Novan, you wanted to cheat and
dating her again???”, Sardy laughed sarcastically, “NOVAN AND JENNIFER ARE
ENGAGED!", Sardi said sharply and laughed more sarcastically
One more bump punch landed
right on Sardi's cheek. Sardi fell to the ground with a hard punch from Julian.
"YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!!",
Julian roar, "Jennifer and I never have any plan like that!!! IT IS YOU, A
TRAITOR! !!", he pointed out to Sardi, “Tell me now, why do you wanna know
about my client??!!!"
Julian continued, his expression become more
smooth, "Well, we'll prove it later at
Jennifer's house!!" he grabbed the collar of Sardi's shirt, "If you
both lie about her and all of your story you told me here in this cafe, I'll
kill you!", he threatened Sardi, and he glanced to Rudi too.
Off course it was just a
bluff to Sardi, he is very angry and his emotions were culminated. He then pull
out his grip on Sardi’s neck, he left the café with his two employees.
Actually, this is quite
embarrassing for Julian, especially in front of his employees. He is known as a
calm leader in the office, not easy to be emotional, likes to do joke, but is
level-headed, professional, and ingenious in dealing with various company
problems. But the disgust was unbearable. He also started to get confused about
who was wrong, Jennifer in one side or Sardi and Rudi in the other side? He was
completely fed up with everything about his old company with all his three
colleagues.
He then determined that
tomorrow at the meeting, according to his appointment with Jennifer on the
phone before, he will clean up the rest of his past with his three colleagues,
Jennifer, Sardi and Rudi.
